Midland Funding complaint by Kyurina1

I have recently come across a collection agency by the name of Midland Funding INC. I had purchased a Dell laptop through financing monthly. I eventually paid it off in full a couple of years ago. I recently a month ago received a noticed from a collection agency called Midland Funding/ Dominion Law Associates stating I owe the entire balance of $1,014.30. Who are they kidding? I had proof of payments and one lump sum of ending amount $1014.30 that I paid in full. Proof was provided by my bank. They said ok. I had to send them written documented proof and cleared check. I did. I was told everything is ok. I receive a final notice that a subpeona will be presented to me as an arrest warrant if I fail to pay balance of $1014.30 within a few days. Here we go another round of phone calls and my mother to assist 3 way because she is a lawyer. Midland Funding /Dominion Law Associates and Dell Computer do not have their crap together. I advise not to do finances through Dell unless you pay in full up front because this is who you end up dealing with later even though you have paid. I can't forget to mention half of the people who answer the phone are rude and hang up on me. someone or persons above in their account management offices are not doing their job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That or trying to rip people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are being sued and character deflimation on false credit information by me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to threaten to have someone arrested for not paying a debt.

If you are so inclined, I would file suit against Midland Funding in small claims court for violating the FDCPA.
